After a few frustrating days of trial and error with coding for some of the links on the StarrBizz.com web biz marketing site, this Internet business is back on track! © GT Bulmer Web Biz Opportunities - StarrBizz.comRecently, I went through the process of transferring my web biz hosting needs to a new provider, HostGator. HostGator has a range of services that can truly help an entrepreneur expand their marketing reach and the level of their professionalism substantially. During the process of the transfer, as can be expected, some minor glitches occurred. As noted in my previous web biz blog post, between HostGator tech support and a couple of my Internet Marketing mentors, we identified the problems and found solutions. The biggest headache had to do with link re-directs I have created over the past few years using third-party software. There was something wrong in the coding that worked fine at the old web host, but would not work here at the new host. HostGator identified the offending code immediately, and although my marketing mentors tried to guide me through the steps to correct the problem, it did take me some study and trial and error to work through the solution due to my inexperience with the new hosting platform. However, once I caught on to the process, fixing the problem at hand was basically quick and simple. You may still find the odd link that still doesn't open properly, but for the most part, I have fixed all of the current links and the most relevant ones. I will get to them all, eventually. This has been a great relief! You know how stressful it can be when you have a problem but you can't envision the solution. You start to imagine that it will never be resolved. I think that is where vision, goals and commitment to success come in. You must be determined to push through the frustration until you find the solution - whatever it takes. We have successfully transferred our web hosting to HostGator and we are now just working out a few of the bugs. © GT Bulmer Web Biz Opportunities - StarrBizz.comI am not typically one to do things "the easy way," although I do start out looking for the easy way to do things. But I always encounter alternatives, and alternatives quite often lead a person on to unexpected tangents. Such was the case when I recently decided to move my web hosting to a new service that provides a range of additional features and a great deal more potential for the future of my online business. Instead of going with a simple,  straight across web hosting package, I chose a more advanced package that gives me greater administrative control plus a more dependable, and faster, server - a virtual private server (VPS), in fact. Click my HostGator link for more information about the benefits of a VPS. Today, I am testing some of the new settings for this Web Bizz Blog. If you are reading this, it worked! I've also noticed a problem with some of the links for products and services I promote. At the moment, any link that has "starrbizz.com/recommends/(anything)" in it is not working. It has something to do with the third party software I had been using to create those links. As soon as I can find the solution, I'll get all those links back up and running. For now, most everything else seems to work fine, with many thanks and much credit to my tech mentor, Jeffery, and one of my key marketing mentors, Suzanne, both from the mentorship team at the Affiliate Power Group. Acknowledgement must also go to tech support at HostGator who readily offered insight and assistance along the way. Once I work these things through, I will have some new ideas and web biz opportunities to introduce. That's my web biz hosting transfer update for today.
