Since launching their all new SFI 3.0 upgrade last month, the SFI Marketing Group is gaining in popularity. I've been working on updating the training letters I offer to members of my SFI affiliate team.© GT Bulmer Web Biz Opportunities - StarrBizz.comThe SFI free web biz opportunity is just one of several online businesses in my home based Internet Marketing portfolio. But it has been the most consistent money-maker. I like SFI 3.0 because it is quick, easy and free to join, the entire marketing system has been simplified, and the online training and support materials are exceptional. If you do no other home based business online, you can still make a nice living with the SFI marketing opportunity simply by following the training provided and focusing on the basics as outlined. It helps if you have upline support, too. I lost contact quickly with my sponsor after joining in 2007, but the NEXT person in my upline, SFI Team Leader Jeff Casmer, has been there for me every step of the way. Jeff has consistently provided marketing information, insight, ideas and encouragement to help keep me focused - and happy - with the SFI Marketing Group. I try to do the same with those whom I sponsor. I believe leadership is important. All a leader can do is make the training and support available, then invite team members to take advantage of it. How they respond is up to them. Psst! Hey buddy. Are ya lookin' for a hot tip on a great "get rich quick" Internet Marketing opportunity? Well, I've got some sad news for you. Legitimate home based web biz opportunities do not typically bring you overnight success.© GT Bulmer http://www.StarrBizz.comYou see the advertising all over the Internet promoting guaranteed get rich quick schemes and overnight success opportunities. But in all honesty, have you ever actually met a home based Internet business marketer who has truly achieved overnight success with any of their opportunities? I think not. We all know online marketers who have achieved success after extended periods of training, trial and error with their Internet businesses. And we may know of a few marketers who, after first achieving fame and fortune the long, hard way, are then able to produce successful results quickly with the launch of a new product or service. But it is a rare occurrence indeed when a new marketer is able to achieve above average results without first going through a process of training and experience to fine tune their home based web biz marketing abilities. Still, the "get rich quick" promotions continue to proliferate and we who promote Internet business ideas and opportunities continue to let our excitement and enthusiasm influence the language and expressions we use to advertise our opportunities. Such is human nature. In reality, home based web biz marketing success takes time, training and effort and that is not the message that Internet business hopefuls want to hear or respond well to. I suppose the good news is that web biz wannabes looking for the easy way quickly fall by the wayside and either fade away entirely, or simply keep chasing their tales, never making any progress. The good news about that is it weeds out the insincere and leaves more room for greater success for those with a clear vision and a commitment to their web biz marketing goals. So, how long does web biz marketing success take? That all depends on the individual; there is no pat answer to that question. The only thing that can be said is that those who plan, focus and commit can expect to achieve satisfying results faster than those who simply sit and dream. Personally, I am moving closer to realization of my ultimate web biz marketing goals by observing these three principles of business success: 1. A clear focus on your income and lifestyle goals or targets 2. A commitment to lifelong learning and ongoing Internet Marketing training 3. An interest and willingness to learn from others and adopt or adapt their proven success strategiesHome based Web Biz marketing success is not happening overnight for me. I don't believe in "get rich quick" opportunities. But I do believe that Internet business riches are available to those willing to lay down a proper foundation for online financial success. And that's my "hot tip" for gettin' rich on the Internet ... buddy! For some home based Internet business marketers, learning HTML is a huge challenge. However, with a little patience and a little persistence, you CAN master the basics for Web Biz Success!© GT Bulmer http://www.StarrBizz.comIn yesterday's Web Bizz Blog, I mentioned the mystery of HTML, emphasized the importance and value of lifelong learning and the guidance of experienced mentors and outlined some of the HTML basics. Today: A Struggle, an Alarming Experience and a BreakthroughFor me, in the beginning, learning HTML well enough to make changes to my StarrBizz.com website was a real struggle. Some of the basics, like bold, underline and italics were easy. Setting up hypertext links wasn't too difficult. And I quickly got the hang of linking images. But working with other web page elements proved to be more challenging. Like how to properly place new text boxes so I could insert text or banners or other features exactly where I wanted to on the page. It was months before the HTML code to do that started making sense to the point where I knew what I was doing and understood why I was doing it. It has to do with how tables and frames are set up in the background code, understanding where they start and end, and how they relate to each other in that code. Then there was the alarming experience I had with my Web Biz Blog template. One time, early on in my HTML experience, I was making what I thought was a very simple change to the template and wham! There went the entire template formatting! All kinds of strange characters showed up on the actual web page; text was missing and replaced with HTML code and code words; links to other page elements, plus archived stories and a few other very important things no longer functioned properly. The whole thing was messed up. I looked at the source code and tried to correct the errors, but nothing I did would reverse or resolve the mess completely. As an HTML newbie, I was terror-stricken for the better part of a day as I tried to get my blog fixed. Eventually, I restored the template from my backup copy (thank goodness for the wisdom of doing a backup copy!), then went back and made that simple original change using a different method, and everything turned out fine. My struggles with HTML continued for a number of months until one day, a breakthrough! It was like an awakening. I was busy working on some site changes when suddenly it dawned on me ... I KNEW what I was doing! Whereas before I felt like I was flying blind, applying hit and miss changes, having to double check and review every little thing to see if it worked or not, this time I was zipping through with complete awareness, understanding ... and confidence! What a great feeling of empowerment. I still have a long ways to go to fully grasp the intricacies of HTML. But now that I know the basics and feel somewhat competent and confident, I am encouraged to forge ahead. If you are new to HTML, or have some experience but are struggling with the challenge, be encouraged: it does get better with time. Give it a chance, stick with it and chances are you will experience a breakthrough, too. Once again, I emphasize the value of lifelong learning and a commitment to practice and persistence. In the long run, you will benefit on a personal level and you will be better able to effectively promote your home based Internet business ideas and opportunities. Learn the basics of HTML how-to and you will enjoy greater web biz marketing success. That's what I know! When you're new to Web Biz Marketing, everything is a mystery, and I think for many home based Internet business opportunity marketers like me nothing is more mysterious than HTML!© GT Bulmer http://www.StarrBizz.comWhen I first started developing my home based web biz and started promoting Internet business ideas and opportunities I was a complete newbie to HTML. HTML stands for "Hyper Text Markup Language" and it is a language that was totally foreign to me! Sure, others who had gone before tried to convince me that HTML wasn't all that difficult to understand and learn. But when you look at a page of text filled with odd characters in weird formations, and you know that altering or deleting even a few of those characters could mess up your whole web page (it happened to me!), you get a little leery about attempting the task. Fortunately, I have two things going for me: 1) I am devoted to lifelong learning, and even though I get frustrated easily (ask my marketing mentors!), I am able to stay focused and committed to learning the new things I want to learn. It may take time, but I manage it because experience has taught me that it is well worth it in the long run. 2) I found a mentorship group with the experience, knowledge and patience to guide and instruct me in my quest for home based web biz marketing success. And it turned out that several of them have great insight into HTML and SEO (search engine optimization). HTML, What Do I Know? A VERY Brief Overview of the BasicsHTML is a markup language. A markup language uses a set of annotations to text that determines how the text is to be displayed - for example bold, italics, underline, headings, paragraphs, lists, etc. HTML is written in the form of tags surrounded by angle brackets. In addition to describing the structure of text-based information in a document it is also used to describe the structure of interactive forms, images and various other page elements. You can tell which files and URLs contain HTML - they usually have .html or .htm in the filename extension.
