Finally, I can reveal the source of all my secrets to Search Engine Success. My favourite SEO expert's new eBook, "3 Steps to Search Engine Success" has just been released!© GT Bulmer http://www.StarrBizz.comActually, I'm being a bit dramatic there. The secrets to Search Engine Success aren't really secret. And neither is the source of much of my Search Engine Optimization (SEO) information. Suzanne Morrison is one of my home based Internet business mentors and it is Suzanne's SEO expertise that has been guiding the progress of my StarrBizz.com website towards the top of the Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs). Suzanne's new eBook, 3 Steps to Search Engine Success, provides thorough, step-by-step SEO guidance in simple language. StarrBizz.com is improving in the SERPs weekly because of what I am learning and applying from Suzanne's guidance. For many struggling home based Internet business marketers, Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and success in the Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs) may seem like a difficult subject to understand and master, but really, there are three steps that make the task easier to grasp: 1) Keyword Research: Basically, you want keywords that get a good number of searches each month, but don't have an overwhelming amount of competition from other online marketers. 2) On Site Optimization: You want to optimize certain areas and certain features of your website; titles, tags, headlines, content, ALT tags in your images, even your choice of domain name. 3) Off Site Optimization: Off site, you want to focus on Article Marketing, building backlinks, submitting your site to directories, posting in forums, commenting on blogs and social bookmarketing. If you are an experienced online marketer, these three steps will not be difficult for you. If you are still building your knowledge and experience with Internet marketing and SEO, then you might benefit from 3 Steps to Search Engine Success because it explains these three steps in much more detail and provides you with links to tools, like: - Keyword Research Tool - There are several available, some are free. - Keyword Density Tool - Free ones available. - Backlink Checking Tool - Several available, most are free. - Page Rank Checker - Free ones available. - Website Visitor Statistics Tool - Free ones available. Between the explanations and definitions, the step-by-step instructions and graphics and the tools just mentioned, the new training guide, 3 Steps to Search Engine Success, makes learning and applying effective Search Engine techniques a breeze. Here are a couple of recent posts from my Web Bizz Blog that highlight a few elements from 3 Steps to Search Engine Success: * Keyword Phrases Are Vital For Search Engine Success* Search Engine No-No'sFew online marketers experience success who do not work on improving their Search Engine Optimization practices. Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is a big thing for any Internet marketer trying to rank well in the Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs). We all focus on positive SEO, but what of the Search Engine no-no's? © GT Bulmer http://www.StarrBizz.comLike many Internet marketers and home based Internet business enthusiasts, I work at improving my SEO knowledge and practices on a regular basis. Typically, I try to apply new, positive SEO techniques that I become aware of as quickly as I am able. But there are also a few SEO no-no's that a good webmaster needs to be aware of that could do their web site and SERP standings harm if they aren't careful. This is not a complete list, but it gives a few examples of things to watch for: - Keyword Spamming: Experienced SEO practitioners know the importance and value of selecting the proper keywords and then sprinkling those keywords throughout the text on the web page. However, loading the page or "stuffing" it with too many keywords might actually do more harm than good. Use a keyword density tool to adjust the number of keywords accordingly. - HTML Errors: A few HTML errors on your website won't be much of a problem, but too many errors on your web pages could prevent your site from being indexed. Use a website validation tool to check for HTML errors on your site. - Flash Intros: Search engines cannot understand flash technology, so while flash movies on your home page may enhance the look and image of your site, they may also prevent it from getting the search engine rank it deserves. A text-based home page is recommended. - Linking to Bad Neighborhoods: If you link to a site that has been penalized or banned by the search engines, your ranking can be negatively affected. Check the quality and appearance of a site first, before linking to it. Also, check to see if it is indexed in Google. Visit Google.com and enter "site:http://www.example.com" where example.com is the site that you want to check. - Spamming on Forums and Blogs: Forums are a great source for information and inspiration and they can be another way to get backlinks, via your forum signature. Commenting on blogs can also be a source of backlinks. However, whether in forums or in blog comments, it is important that you respond thoughtfully and in a way that supports or contributes to the topic. Otherwise, your comment may get deleted or you may develop a reputation as a spammer. If you are an Internet marketer or home based Internet business enthusiast interested in improving your Search Engine Results Page rankings, be sure to expand your SEO knowledge and practices, focus on the positives, but be aware of the SEO no-no's you need to watch out for. Here's a neat little feature free from Google: add a Customized Search Bar to your web site so your visitors can search your site for relevant information and links. It's one more way to highlight your own Internet Home Business ideas and opportunities.© GT Bulmer http://www.StarrBizz.comIt's really quite easy to add a customized Google Search Bar to your web site and your visitors might find it useful. You can set it up to search only your site, or to search the entire Internet like a regular search engine. Imagine your visitors typing in your keyword phrase - like Internet home business - and returning search results with ONLY your links and web pages! It's really cool to see it. Or, they may be looking for a specific program or product or service: your Google Custom Search Engine will return relevant results from all pages on your web site. I am not technically savvy, but Google makes it easy to customize a personal search engine: you choose various features, including who can use it as well as the look of the search bar and certain design elements of the results page. My biggest problem is deciding where I want it on my home page. It's still new to me, so I am still experimenting with it. My home page and my site in general are a work in progress anyway, so we'll see how it all develops. To get your own Google Custom Search Engine, go to Google Custom Search, sign in and follow the steps. Google walks you through it and for the most part, it is fairly well explained and not too difficult to follow and apply. Once you have set it all up (it takes only minutes), you will then click on the link to get the necessary code to add to your web site. Once the code has been installed and the changes uploaded to your web site, you are ready to roll! Personally, I think a Google Custom Search Engine can be a beneficial resource to have on your site. Not every visitor will use it, but it will be handy for those who want to. It is also a unique feature that gives your visitors something interesting to try out and one more reason to stick around your web site a bit longer. To try it out yourself visit my StarrBizz.com homepage and key in a few words and phrases and see how it works. Then imagine YOUR site visitors doing the same at your web site! As I said earlier, a Google Custom Search Engine is another excellent way to help highlight and promote your Internet Home Business ideas and opportunities.
