I was reviewing some files this weekend when I came across a particular article in the series that I send out to my Home Internet Business Tips Newsletter subscribers. The article highlights several words that are simple to use and can act as powerful motivators in your advertising and sales copy.

Of course, the object of an ad or any kind of promotional piece is to move the prospect to take some form of action. Here are some effective words to think about:

- Fast: People today want fast results, fast ordering, fast delivery.

- Guaranteed: People want to be assured they're not risking their hard-earned money when buying your product or service.

- Limited: People want to own or receive things that are exclusive or rare. These things are considered to be more valuable.

- Easy/Simple: People want easy ordering, easy payment; they want to know it is simple to use, comes with simple instructions.

- Testimonial: People want to see believable proof before they purchase your product. Testimonials should be specific and reputable.

- Discount/Sale: People want bargains, plain and simple. It could be rebates, one-time sales, percentage offers, get-one-free offers.

- Free: People respond well to the offer of free incentives. This lets them check the quality of your products. Free incentives could be free books, accessories or services.

- You/Your: The use of "you" and "your" helps to personalize your message, making the prospect feel like you are talking directly to them. That makes some people feel more important and it motivates them to read through your entire ad or sales copy.

- Important: People do not want to miss important information that could affect their life. When they see the word "important" they will take notice.

- New: People want new products or services that will improve their life, like new information, new technology, new results.

You may hear of other words with the power to give some extra punch to your ads and sales copy. Add them to this list and be sure to keep them ALL close at hand for whenever you need words that WORK for you.

I'm a "do-it-yourself" kind of guy, even though I should be outsourcing things. While trying to squeeze some time in to practice making banners and graphics for my home based web biz I found this really cool tool that lets you enjoy some photo fun for your web biz.

The website is called JPGfun.com. You can use it to create interesting, unique or humorous images for your, blog, social sites or whatever.

What you do is upload any photo of your choice from your computer, then choose from a selection of frames, effects and magazine covers and insert your photo. The whole process takes only a couple of minutes - faster, once you know what you are doing.

Once your photo has been "adjusted," if you want you can copy the image html directly from the site. Or you can do what I did:

- Create the image
- Save it to your computer
- Upload it to your website server and use that as your image URL

I didn't spend a lot of time experimenting with this resource; just wanted to test the tool to make sure it truly was simple and quick so I could recommend it to you.

It took me about four minutes to create and save five different graphics. You will see one of them below. It's a "cute" one that I particularly like.

This post may sound like a rant about the value of free web biz resources, but bear with me. It is relative to the success of your home based web biz ideas and opportunities and no, I'm not trying to sell anything today; just telling a story.

Today I received yet another "free" offer in my email. It came from an Internet Marketer who is respected in the industry and he was promoting a certain "free web biz resource" being offered by another marketer who he recommends.

Now, we ALL know how these "free resources" offers go: to get it, you have to sign up. Once you sign up, then begins the never-ending deluge of other marketing emails offering everything from more free web biz resources, to paid services, to all of the latest, greatest Internet Marketing "programs of the month!"

I don't need any more email like that. Who does?

Still, looking at the free web biz resource being offered, I was tempted to click the link and check it out. It had to do with SEO (search engine optimization) and improved traffic strategies, elements of my home based Internet business that I am presently focusing on.

So, I clicked the link.

Sure enough, to get the free resource, I had to sign up. But the sales page assured me that it would be free, there would be no one-time offer attempting to up-sell me, and not only would I get the free web biz resource in question, but also other free resources as the marketer made them available. Plus, I would have access to his further training and coaching.

Having nothing to lose but a few more minutes a day deleting unwanted emails, I signed up to get the free web biz resource this marketer was offering.

First came the confirmation email. This is something that I DO like. Some people call it "double opt-in" but I think that term is a bit misleading. In my opinion, the proper term is "confirmed opt-in" where you first sign up, then have to reply to an email to confirm your subscription.

Anyway, I clicked the confirmation link and was immediately taken to a web page that announced that my subscription was confirmed and I would receive a separate email containing the link to get the free web biz resource I had signed up to get.

Good, so far.

But then I noticed the other message on the page. These may not be the exact words, but they went something like: "Congratulations! You are now on my mailing list and will receive tons of free (resources, special offers, etc.)!"

Tons of resources and special offers in my inbox? Groan. Oh, the price we pay just to get something free.

However, to put a positive spin on the issue of stuffed inboxes and information overload, sometimes the resources you get free can have real value to you.

Sure, I've already got "a ton" of free web biz resources that I have never used, some I have never even looked at. But occasionally you do get something that either serves an immediate need, or educates or inspires you in a way that helps you improve, expand, or accelerate your online business.

So, as irritating as offers for "free resources" sometimes are, as a wise web biz marketer, you really should consider the value such resources may have for you. Especially, as in my case, where the resource in question relates specifically to an area in your marketing that you want to focus on.

You will still want to approach and consider free offers just as carefully as you would any offer on the Internet, but don't be too quick to overlook or pass over the benefit that could be there.

You never know where the treasure you seek is going to turn up. Even free web biz resources can be beneficial when it comes to promoting your home based Internet business ideas and opportunities.

As an affiliate marketer, I try to analyze my home based Internet business methods and techniques on a regular basis to find areas that need adjustment and added focus. Fortunately, I have a group of experienced mentors to help and guide me.

In today's Web Bizz Blog post, I'll share a couple of things recommended by members of my mentorship team.

The first question to ask is, are you maximizing your true potential when it comes to making money online? Most aspiring home based business entrepreneurs discover that they are not.

Time and time again, we are told that the key to making money online is to always be selling.

There are different approaches to setting up a successful web biz marketing site and that is a necessary part of the business, but some online marketers get hung up on the "setting up" part and fall short in mastering the art of actual "selling" on the Internet.

Referring back to affiliate marketing, let's look at two important steps to take to make money online with this business model.

1. Rather than using a replicated affiliate website as your initial point of contact with site visitors, it is recommended that you create a unique website. This will give you a better chance to pre-sell your visitors on the benefits and features of the web biz opportunities and products you are promoting.

Pre-selling is important. It has often been said that people like to buy from people and your ability to relate to your prospects through pre-selling can have a very positive impact on your home based web biz marketing success.

2. You need to find effective ways to draw traffic to your website. As basic as that sounds, many home based Internet business marketers fail to promote their website effectively.

This is an active process. You must learn and develop advertising and marketing skills in order to build traffic and successfully make money online. Your commitment to this aspect of web biz marketing will set you apart from others as a leader.

It could take hundreds of hours before you really become adept at the many different ways to market online. It's not quick and it's not real easy. If it was, more marketers would be successful and it would be harder for you to make money.

There is a lot that goes into making money online with home based web biz opportunities and products. You can't really boil it down to two specific things. But, if you create your own website and become an expert at marketing it, you cannot help but make money if you get enough quality traffic every day.
