More Autoresponder Tips For Email Marketing

Everybody has their favourite ways to build their email lists and keep their subscribers interested. Here are a few more autoresponder tips for email marketing.

In the previous Web Bizz Blog post, I listed five interesting ways to use your web biz autoresponder. Today, I'll just get right to it and give you a few more handy autoresponder tips.

1) Publish testimonials and endorsements that you receive from satisfied customers. Many prospects respond well to positive comments from other happy customers. One recommendation: make sure the testimonials and endorsements are true and verifiable. It's YOUR reputation on the line.

2) Publish a thorough list of Frequently Asked Questions. Keep a record of all questions you have received from prospects and customers and all answers you have provided. Add to this list any additional questions and Sign up for the Home Business Tips Newsletteranswers regarding your services that prospects or subscribers may potentially be interested in.

3) Publish a complete price list of all the products and services that you offer. You could also include order forms, product descriptions and other sales material.

4) Publish any terms and conditions related to your services or business transactions. You could include return and refund policies and after sales service information.

Obviously, not every idea presented here will be suitable for or appeal to every web biz marketer. I present these tips for your consideration and enlightenment only. You must choose what is workable for you and your Internet home business.

I just think it is helpful to read about more autoresponder tips for email marketing so that you can find the ideas and inspiration necessary to advance your marketing business.

Autoresponder Tips For Email Marketing

Internet marketers use an online autoresponder to build and maintain email lists and to send follow-up messages to subscribers. Today's web biz blog will highlight a few autoresponder tips for email marketing.

When you start your Internet based home business, everybody tells you to focus on building your list. "The money is in the list," they say. They tell you to place opt-in forms on your web pages to collect names and addresses, and they tell you that once your list starts to grow, you should send follow-up messages to your subscribers to get them interested in your other products and services.

Experienced Internet Marketers have this figured out but newcomers to the business are sometimes left wondering what the next step is. Here are a few innovative ways to use your web biz autoresponder:

1) First and foremost, use your autoresponder to collect leads. Leads are the people who have shown an interest in the types of things you have to offer. Your autoresponder will collect and archive their names and email addresses. You entice them to opt in to your list by offering a free newsletter, e-marketing course, series of niche-related reports or whatever you choose.

As mentioned earlier, the purpose of your autoresponder is to archive the names and emails of subscribers and to send follow-up messages to them. Permission-Based Email Marketing

Despite industry efforts to crack down on the overwhelming glut of unsolicited email, many perpetrators still exist. Wise consumers are learning to block or ignore unwanted mail, but many still get taken in by bogus offers and trickery. Fortunately, respectable web biz marketers use permission-based email marketing.

There has been some concern in recent years that email marketing has become unreliable, that technology and enlightened consumers have rendered ineffective the process of marketing by email.

The good news is you can still market by email if you approach the process with respect for your target market. The best way to do this is through permission-based email marketing.

In this day and age, getting permission from your prospects before ever sending them a single piece of mail is vital. Experienced marketers know this and marketing newbies would do well to learn this lesson and adopt it quickly.

Do this effectively and they will willingly sign-up or opt-in to your newsletter, e-course or whatever it is you are offering.

Do not overwhelm them with too-frequent mailings, and make certain that you provide a fair degree of unconditional value in your mailings that is equal to or greater than the amount of advertising or promotional material that you send. Some marketers have suggested that email marketing is in jeopardy, and while it is true that nobody likes junk mail or receiving too much ad mail, in my opinion, email marketing is still a viable choice for any respectable online marketer.

In fact, permission-based email marketing can be a highly effective method of reaching targeted prospects and selling web biz products and services.

Top 10 Words Used in Email Subject Lines

MailerMailer.com has just released its ninth bi-annual Email Marketing Metrics Report highlighting the latest trends in email marketing. Included: The Top 10 words used in email subject lines.

MailerMailer is a do-it-yourself email list management provider located in Rockville, D.C.

In addition to revealing the Top 10 most popular terms used in email subject lines, MailerMailer's bi-annual Email Marketing Metrics Report "also provides instructional material for designing mobile-friendly emails (because) with more people viewing email on Blackberrys, iPhones and other hand-held devices, there is an increasing need for marketers to pay attention to (that) segment of their target audience."

Available to the public, the 38-page report summarizes the data of over 300 million messages sent in the second half of 2008. Included in the report are charts, tips and data providing businesses and marketers with "information to help them adjust their email marketing strategy to cater to their audience's changing needs."

The reason I am highlighting this report in my Web Bizz Blog is because first, I believe the information is highly relative to my readers who are primarily home based web biz and Internet marketers. Second, because the Top 10 list of words used caught my eye and quite frankly, I am surprised at some of them.

However, since the report covers recent performance data from 21 different industries, I will have to accept the statistical results.

The report is well worth looking into. Among other things, it notes that emails are being opened sooner, email deliverability keeps increasing, religious/spiritual emails get the highest open and click rates compared to other industries, and more.

Email Marketing Lives ....... If You Do It Right

Some people say that Email Marketing is dead. That's not true. Experienced online marketers and home based Internet business entrepreneurs know that Email Marketing has simply evolved.

In the early days of the Internet, Email Marketing was the thing: many marketers got hold of large email lists and proceeded to blast sales messages to the targets like there was no tomorrow.

The process was new and novel and the unsuspecting recipients didn't know how to respond to the deluge.

Two things happened in those early days:

1) Because the email marketing process was successful in generating sales, it spawned an industry of bulk email service providers willing to beg, borrow and steal email addresses from wherever they could.

2) The scammers and spammers took to bulk emailing like flies to ... well, you know, and what started out to be a great system of global communication quickly turned into a nuisance and an annoyance for many people.

Then the transition began. Consumers became experienced and wary; technology improved; email filtering became much more sophisticated; and legitimate online marketers and home based Internet business entrepreneurs began to suffer at the expense of less ethical marketers.

Fortunately, where there is a will, there is a way and responsible, respectable Internet Marketing leaders lead the way to a new evolution in effective Email Marketing.

Permission-Based Email Marketing

Permission-based email marketing is the way to go these days. It allows legitimate home based Internet business people to market their products and services and it gives the consumer control over what they receive and when.

Basically, permission-based email marketing means attracting interested prospects who willingly sign up, opt in or otherwise request to be added to your list before you ever send them anything via email.

There are variations on this sign-up process, but the system I like best is the confirmed opt-in process where they first sign up, indicating their interest, then they respond to a follow-up message where they confirm their interest. This assures that you get only the most serious prospects on your list and it prevents a third party from adding someone to your list without their permission.

Prospects may sign up for a newsletter subscription, for information updates, for a serialized ebook or training course. It depends on what the marketer is offering. When they sign up, they understand they are giving permission to the marketer to send them additional updates and offers periodically.

Permission-based email marketing helps you maximize your conversion rates and build customer confidence. You still get people who sign up, forget they did it or forget why they did it and ask to be removed. But generally, the confirmed opt-in process increases your chances of sales success and reduces the risk of sending something to someone who doesn't want to receive it.

Online marketers promoting products, services and home based Internet business ideas and opportunities of all kinds use permission-based email marketing to respect their prospects and assure their own ultimate success. Email Marketing lives ... if you learn to do it the right way.
