The secret to success in online marketing is not rocket science: create an appealing website around a service or product in demand and drive targeted prospects to it. In the process, do not overlook your local market. Here is how to promote your web biz offline, Part Two. © GT Bulmer Web Biz Opportunities - StarrBizz.comIn yesterday's web biz blog post I highlighted several good offline promotion methods. You can read that post for the details, but here is a recap of the methods listed: - T-shirts - Ball Caps - Jackets - Magnetic Signs - Bumper Stickers Today, let's focus on a few traditional marketing methods. 1. Business Cards: The popularity of business cards remains because they are small, easy to carry around, easy to hand out and they don't cost much to produce. Print them with your website address and other business information. Some marketers print an advertisement on the reverse side. 2. Flyers: Again, flyers are inexpensive and easy for you to take with you to hand out or post on bulletin boards and wherever else you are authorized to place them. Include your website address, business info and other brief, appealing information about your product or website. 3. Pens: Have some pens imprinted with your website address and other business information, then give them to people or leave them behind in the post office, banks, stores and other places where people might use them to sign receipts or other papers. 4. Mugs: Mugs imprinted with your website address and business information can be used when you have company over, or you can give them away as gifts to family, friends and even to local business groups that meet regularly. 5. Duffle Bags: Imprint your website address and business info on a duffle bag?? Why not? I have a similar bag I received from a local company and every time I use it, not only do I think favourably of the company, but other people also take notice of the company's information. Give your imprinted duffle bags to family and friends to create more exposure for your web biz. Business promotion takes on many forms and the wise marketer will look at all methods and all opportunities to drive traffic to their website. Hopefully, today's post, Promote Your Web Biz Offline, Part Two, will inspire you to take some action in your local market. A lot of Internet entrepreneurs focus only on marketing their home based businesses online. Why not expand your potential prospect base to your local market? Here's a few ideas on how to promote your web biz offline. © GT Bulmer Web Biz Opportunities - StarrBizz.comThere's nothing new about these ideas, but as simple and basic as they are, it's surprising that more home based Internet business marketers don't take advantage of them. Consider these ways to promote your web biz while doing non-business tasks offline: 1. T-shirts: It doesn't cost a lot to get small batches of t-shirts imprinted these days. Have some t-shirts printed up with your website and other business information. Give the shirts out to family, friends and others in your community. 2. Ball Caps: Same thing goes for ball caps. Get a bunch made up with your web address and other info and hand them out. People will be happy to wear the caps because they are both fun and functional. 3. Jackets: Since we're talking about apparel, why not get some jackets printed for family members and close friends? When it gets too cold for t-shirts, you can wear jackets! 4. Magnetic Signs: How about magnetic signs with your website and business info? Place them on your vehicle door or roof when travelling. The added bonus is their portability; easily switch to whatever vehicle you happen to be using ... even a relative's! 5. Bumper Stickers: Bumper stickers are still popular and they do get noticed. Print some with your website and other business information and away you go. There you are. If you have ever wondered how to promote your web biz offline, now you've got some great ideas to get you started! I thought I was finished with this topic for now, but apparently not! ;-) Here's even more home biz ad copy ideas to help with your Internet Marketing business. © GT Bulmer Web Biz Opportunities - StarrBizz.comYesterday's web biz blog post listed several advertising copy tips as a follow-up to the previous day's post on the same subject. I didn't think I had anything more to say on the topic, but I just checked my notes and guess what? I DO have a few more tips to pass along. Once again, these come from my Home Internet Business Tips Newsletter, and once again, they are simple and basic, nothing earthshaking, but good to know and apply. At least, I am hoping some readers will find value and inspiration here. 1. Use Mind Altering Words: The word "fast" can be effective; fast delivery, fast results, fast ordering. Also, guaranteed, limited, discount, sale, important, new. 2. Make your ad benefits as specific as possible. Include exact numbers, percentages, times, colors, smells, sounds, descriptive adjectives, etc. 3. List all the ways your product is different from your competition's. Include all the differences in your ad copy that are better than their product. 4. Use graphics, pictures and drawings of people actually using your product to solve their problem. Include a picture that also shows the results. 5. Tell your audience what kind of support they'll get after they buy. It could be free consulting, tech support, free servicing, etc. As simple and obvious as some of these tips may seem, it's never a bad idea to review them from time-to-time to refresh your memory. They just might contain the seeds of inspiration that could blossom into a bouquet of even more home biz ad copy ideas. In yesterday's blog post, I listed a few handy advertising tips for your home based web biz. Today, here are a few more home business ad copy ideas. © GT Bulmer Web Biz Opportunities - StarrBizz.comAs mentioned in yesterday's web biz blog, individuals respond differently to different messages. Words that motivate one person may have little or no affect on the next. For that reason, as a home based Internet business marketer, you will want to create and test your ad copy using different angles. When you find a formula that produces results, it's good to focus on it, but it is also wise to never stop testing other variations. You never know when you might find something better. Once again, the ad copy ideas presented today come from my Home Internet Business Tips Newsletter, available free to subscribers. 1. Learn From Example: Pay attention to ads and other promotional material you see on the Internet or receive from other marketers. Keep a file of ads, headlines and other copy ideas that strike you as being exceptional. Use them as examples on which to base your own ads. 2. Know Your Purpose: What do you want your ad copy to accomplish? Do you want to generate leads, qualify prospects, attract traffic to your website, make sales? Write your copy according to the purpose. 3. Know Your Target Audience: Make a list of the reasons your target audience would buy your product. Prioritize the list, then depending on the size of ad you are writing, use all or several of the top reasons in your copy. Be sure to highlight the biggest benefit. 4. Begin With the Biggest Benefit: Begin your ad with the most important benefit in either the headline or first sentence. When you do this, not only does it grab attention immediately, it also helps attract and qualify your best prospects. 5. Include Factual References: Prospects respond well to ad copy that includes references to customer surveys, product reviews, scientific tests or studies and the like. Use only factual references that can be verified in case the fact is questioned or challenged. Advertising copywriting is a whole profession unto itself, but you don't need to be a professional copywriter to produce effective, order-pulling ads for your home based web biz. While many more home business ad copy ideas are available, these basic tips are enough to get you started on the road to marketing success. Some Internet Marketers are naturals when it comes to writing advertising copy. The rest of us have to work at it! Here are a few home based business ad copy ideas that might help. © GT Bulmer Web Biz Opportunities - StarrBizz.comIt is always a good idea to consider alternative ways to write your advertising copy and present your offers. We all know that different people respond to different messages in different ways, so it stands to reason to test different ideas. Here are some taken from my free home based business tips newsletter. I realize that not all ideas are suitable for all situations. Use what you can, modify them however you want or simply draw inspiration from them to come up with your own unique twists and ideas. 1. Benefit Intensifiers: Create a benefit intensifier for each item in your list of ad copy benefits. For example, The Benefit: Save More Time. The Benefit Intensifier: Never Seen Before. Add some additional quality to each benefit to further enhance its appeal. 2. Ask Questions: Whether it is in your ad copy or on your website, when you ask your prospects and visitors questions that induce thoughts, feelings, memories and emotions, it helps influence them to make the buying decision. The more they associate their needs and interests with the product, the more likely they are to buy it. 3. Use Image and the Power of Suggestion: Most people care about what other people think of them. You can use this as leverage to get them to warm up to your product. Tell your prospects the positive things their friends or family will probably think when they buy your product. 4. Humor: When used appropriately and respectfully, humor in your home business ad copy could provide the little extra motivation that is sometimes needed to close the sale. Light humor often relaxes people and when they are in a good mood they are more receptive to your sales suggestions. These home based business ad copy ideas are fairly basic, but they are worth considering and applying. A good rule of thumb in advertising is to involve and engage your prospects however and wherever you can. Whether you pay for it or find free sources, ezine advertising can be an effective way to promote your Internet business and get your offers distributed far and wide in a timely manner.© GT Bulmer Web Biz Opportunities - StarrBizz.comJust like any consumer, web biz enthusiasts are cautious with their money and want to know they will receive fair value when they spend it. When it comes to advertising on the Internet, marketers want the biggest bang for their buck. One way to achieve this is to advertise in online ezines - electronic magazines or newsletters - because these publications typically reach targeted audiences and the ads are not expensive. Like many newbies to the world of home based web biz marketing, I struggled to find dependable sources for advertising on the Net. My budget was limited and I could not afford to advertise in any of the big, well known online publications. Then I was introduced to a handy directory of ezines and found a fast and economical way to reach targeted prospects. This directory includes more than 150 ezines with a combined subscriber base of well over two million readers. Advertise to these prospects to build your mailing list, sell your products or services, or sign up new affiliates into your marketing programs. Ads start at just $15. The main advantage of this service, aside from the low cost, is the time-saving convenience. Ordering is easy and once you provide your details, the ad submission process is completely automated and taken care of for you. Another advantage is that you can choose to send your ad(s) to five different subscriber groups. Choose one group, several groups or all of the groups. Now, here's a bit of personal insight about advertising. A number of years ago I used to sell advertising in print publications. Being involved in the industry, I knew that the best kind of advertising was consistent, steady repeat advertising - no matter what the media, whether print, radio, television or Internet. All too often, I heard customers complaining that they ran their ad once and didn't get the response they were hoping for. On the other hand, advertisers who budgeted for several ad runs in a row were much happier with the overall results. And if you look at the Big Dogs in any industry, they don't run ads; they conduct advertising campaigns. They spend big money keeping their names in front of their targeted audiences continuously. Small home based web biz marketers don't have that kind of budget. However, if you listen to Internet Marketing mentors, they tell you that testing, testing, testing is the order of the day for any kind of advertising, marketing and promotion you do. In other words, you need to run ads several times to test the results; you need to test your ads in a variety of publications; and you need to test variations of the ad to find out what people respond to the best. The process is not necessarily quick, but if you want to develop a successful business, it is important. As I mentioned earlier, you can choose to pay for advertizing or you can spend time seeking sources of free ads, which are definitely out there. You can also engage in blogging and social networking, however it is also recommended that you use all the marketing methods at your disposal and ezine advertising is one of them. Take a look at this directory of ezines and consider the benefits it has to offer. Save yourself some time and effort by taking advantage of the great ezine advertising rates available. If you can, budget ahead for several monthly ad insertions. Sincerely, GT Bulmer StarrBizz.com - Home Based Internet Business Opportunities ..... ..... Building a successful Home Based Internet Business has many challenges, one of the biggest being advertising: that is, getting your message out to potential prospects and customers. Here's a unique idea to help expand your reach to a wider group.© GT Bulmer http://www.StarrBizz.comI was reviewing some information today in one of the free Internet Home Business Tips newsletters I send out to my subscribers and one little Internet advertising idea caught my eye: cataloging your products or services in e-book form. And it's not just the unique presentation method that offers possibilities, but the ways you can enlist other Internet Marketers to help you distribute the e-books. Create the CatalogThe idea is simple and basic: create a listing of your products and services, complete with brief descriptions, important details, prices and links to sales or information pages. Depending on the e-book software you use, include photos or graphics where applicable. Use Internet advertising to promote the catalog any way you can. Give it away free to your website visitors. Add a promo for the catalog to the auto responder series you send to your existing subscribers or email list. Expand Your DistributionHere's where you and other non-competing Internet Marketers can leverage your circles of influence for mutual benefit and potential profit. Approach marketers and website owners that aren't in direct competition to you and ask if they would like to include their products and services in the catalog at no cost. In return, ask them to either link to your website or run a promotional ad or banner on their site for a specified period of time. Additionally, ask them to give the catalog away to their prospects, customers and subscribers. Since you created the catalog, your sponsor ad can be placed at the top, or on the title page of the catalog. Imagine how this will multiply your Internet advertising. With so many online marketers competing for customers, and so many home based Internet business ideas and opportunities to choose from, you need to find unique ways to use Internet Advertising to promote your products and services. Catalogs are one way to do it, and co-oping your catalog with non-competing marketers is a great way to expand your reach.
