As I mentioned yesterday, your goal is to get as many links as possible pointing back to your site, preferably with your keyword phrase in the anchor text of those links. There are a variety of ways to get other websites to link back to yours. Submitting your site to online business directories is one way.
When I was starting out in the
business, I found out the hard way how tedious it can be to locate suitable directories, then manually enter all the required details into each of the numerous fields on the submission page. I knew how important directory submission was, but man, what a drag it was on my time and energy.
