http://www.StarrBizz.comMany years ago, while learning the ropes in traditional offline business, I picked up a motivational concept that has stuck with me all my life. It can be applied to business and to life in general.
The concept is this:
You are never standing still. If you are not moving forward, you are moving backward.
Basically, what that means is you always have to be thinking and planning ahead and taking steps to improve and develop your business. You cannot rest on today's success. You cannot trust that your business practices today will continue to be effective tomorrow.
Thinking ahead isn't always easy. Sometimes, we get so wrapped up in the urgency of today's marketing activity that we fail to take time to seriously think about tomorrow. I know I am like that. I run out of time each day and blame my poor focus on planning on being too busy.
Sometimes, events conspire in our favour in a backwards sort of way.
If you have read my last few blog posts, you will know that family matters have kept me busy the past few weeks. In particular, I've been doing a lot of highway driving. Over the past seven days, I think I have spent almost as many waking hours on the road as I have doing anything else.
Since I can't do computer or Internet work while driving down the highway, the only other thing I can do when not engaged in conversation is exercise my brain. So, I used the time to think about my
Internet Home Business in general and
Niche Marketing in particular.
Right now, my
Internet Marketing focus is fairly general. I promote a
portfolio of affiliate programs and services, plus a few other products and services. I will keep building on that generalized foundation, but I am planning also to create a highly focused niche site or two.
I have a few
Niche Marketing guides plus some other sources of information to review before I make any decisions. As I learn about the
advantages and methods of Niche Marketing I will write more about it here in future blog posts.
For now, I must resign myself to the "thinking" stage of my
Niche Market research because over the next several days, I am committed to helping another family member with a project, then my spouse and I are off next week on another long road trip to a short family reunion. Uh, the
reunion is short,
not the
family.
Busy, busy.
I said it before and I'll say it again - thank goodness my
Internet Home Business is built on systems that keep running whether I'm here or not. You can bet I'll use the same systems to accelerate my
Niche Marketing sites when I get them going.
