economic downturns in certain regions of the world. Business people in those regions are concerned about the impact the downturns may have on their sales and income, and rightly so.
Economic downturns are nothing new. Most of us have lived long enough to know that such downturns, depressions and recessions are cyclical and bound to happen from time to time. Various factors trigger them. Various factors bring them out again.
The challenge is building strength into your source(s) of income to withstand the
inevitable economic fluctuations. This takes a bit of foresight and planning.
One way to build strength is to
diversify your income streams so you are not dependent on just one. Another way is to build a business foundation that is not dependent on a local or regional economy.
Internet Marketing as an ideal way to both diversify your income and assure economic independence.
I think the
benefits of Internet Marketing are probably obvious to most people. Very simply put, you can reach a larger group of people faster and with less expense than traditional marketing and advertising.
Specifically, you can reach prospective customers who are not affected by your local economy.
While the benefits are obvious, buy-in to the concept of Internet Marketing and Internet Home Business is not always so quickly embraced.
In my experience, the reason is because some people are more focused on saving money than they are on making money. They are more obsessed with "protecting" what little they have than with taking steps to increase their wealth.
I don't argue the value and importance of budgeting and being cautious with how, when and where you spend your money. I'm just saying don't let the fear of poverty blind you or paralyze you to the possibilities of prosperity.
In other words,
focus your thoughts on making money instead of on being broke or poor.
When you focus on the positive side of an issue instead of on the negative side, all sorts of creative and inspirational thoughts and opportunities begin to materialize. Simply consider all possibilities that could move you forward, then choose the best ones to suit your present needs, interests and budget.
If you are concerned about your budget, not to worry. Time and money are interchangeable. Save money by using less costly methods to build your business. It may take more time, but it will still move you towards your income goals.
Speed isn't the issue: only forward motion.
The talk I hear from some marketers these days is that they plan to cut back their marketing activity to save money during the economic downturn. If their customers are mostly local or regional, that may or may not be a good short-term solution.
However, for the long term, I say they should consider diversifying their business by adding
extra income streams and taking advantage of
opportunities on the Internet to create that diversification. This will allow them to create a hedge against their locally depressed economy.
If you currently have an
Internet Home Business, or are considering starting one, I say use the Internet and "
think prosperity," not poverty, for ultimate success, achievement and personal satisfaction.
