We live on a secluded acreage down a country road just within the limits of our little town. Today, with the last of the late-spring snowfall finally melting away, I was cleaning up odd bits of paper and other trash down our driveway and out on the boulevard separating our property from the road.

Normally, I have my eyes peeled for wayward pieces of paper money that might blow my way (more about THAT particular interest in a moment), but today, I was just thinking of beautifying my property. Little did I know what treasure I was about to uncover in the mud on the boulevard.

Let me fill you in on some of my treasure-hunting history.

Ever since I was about five years old I have always dreamed of finding treasure. Back then, and through the years, I would often find coins and paper bills in various denominations on the street, in gutters, ditches, fields, wherever.

This happened so often in my early years that for many years following, I had recurring night time dreams where I spotted coins in the dirt and the more I would dig, the more coins turned up. In my waking hours, I developed a habit of watching for shiny coins on the ground, or paper bills blowing in the wind.

As an adult, I soon found that I could earn far more "treasure" working than I would ever discover waiting for it to blow past me, so the childhood attraction of that sort of treasure hunting eventually faded away. Although, even now, when I see a bit of paper sticking up somewhere, or a piece blowing down the street, I sometimes can't resist checking it out just for the fun of it.

Now, again, you may be wondering what all this has to do with Internet home business ideas and opportunities. As mentioned earlier, it all relates to dreams and life goals.

I am an advocate for dreaming big, believing in your dreams, and actively pursuing your dreams. I know from personal experience that if you have faith and truly focus on your dreams, you can make them real.

One personal example is my interest in writing. I've been writing for many years. I've always dreamed of being a paid writer. But it wasn't until I took that part of the dream seriously that paid writing opportunities started to materialize.

Another example is a lifelong interest I have had in sales and marketing. I've been dabbling in marketing and promotion for many years and since the advent of the Internet, I've dreamed of developing my own home-based Internet business complete with websites, email marketing campaigns and the whole nine yards. It wasn't until I began to pursue that dream in earnest that I started to experience some satisfying results.

So, my philosophy is "dream big." Don't risk limiting yourself. Shoot for the moon! You might not quite make it, but you will definitely go further and achieve more than you would have otherwise.

I have always dreamed of finding a million dollars, or discovering treasure valued at millions of dollars. Over the years, I've been lucky in finding a few coins and bills. In those instances, it was not the value of the money that excited me, but the simple thrill of discovering it!

While I never gave up on the dream of finding a million dollars, to be truthful, I never really thought it could happen.

Then today, it did! Honestly, I found one million dollars in the mud just outside of our yard. And what a thrill it was!

I saw this paper sticking up out of the ground. As I bent to pick it up I could see that it had the coloring and markings of Canadian paper money. When I pulled it from the mud, it was the right size and texture and had official government signatures in the proper spots. When I checked the denomination, I couldn't believe my eyes - it was clearly marked as a Canadian $1,000,000 bill!

Now, as you may have guessed, Canada does not officially have a million dollar bill! My treasure is counterfeit!

Close examination of the fine print on the front of the bill states clearly that the bill is not to be considered legal tender. Oh, well. It was fun while it lasted and the thrill of discovery and the excitement of realizing a childhood dream remains.

And no matter what, I can still honestly say that today, I found $1,000,000!
